Triadic

A colour wheel that demonstrates a triadic colour scheme. Red, yellow and green have been coloured in on the wheel

A triadic colour scheme is bold and definitely not for the faint hearted! An equilateral triangle is drawn in the centre of the colour wheel and its 3 corners point to colours located on different parts of the wheel. The colours create a very strong visual contrast, so balancing their uses is important. One of the three colours should be dominant, and the remaining two should function as accent colours. The accent colours need to be relaxed and muted within the space. You can include neutrals to dilute the colours (white, grey, cream.)
